Jamal James Decimates Mahonry Montes in Two

Jamal James

Jamal James has a perfect nightcap!

The Minneapolis native accomplished everything he wanted to in his welterweight bout against Mahonry Montes (35-7). Jamal James improved to 24 and 1 in his fourth consecutive win since losing a close bout to Yordenis Ugas.

In this fight, Jamal started fast – showing excellent movement and a very sharp jab. He also was able to land some thudding left hooks to Mahonry’s body while mixing in his lead right. James put an end to the bout halfway through the second round by landing a lead left hook to his opponent’s head and following it up with a blistering combination. Mahonry went down for a 10-count.

James has now positioned himself to fight in the upper tier of the ultra competitive welterweight division. This victory puts him one step closer to that big name fight he’s been looking for.
