Rising heavyweight contender Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson (17-0, 15KO) remained flawless against Ryad Merhy (32-2, 26KO) who fought in defense mode all night.

The Real Big Baby was in control of this fight early by using the jab. He used different variations of the jab followed by the right hand that nullified Merhy’s offense. It was an effortless performance from the Ohian who couldn’t miss with the jab whether he fought orthodox or southpaw.

Merhy’s punch output was so non-existent that he looked like a human punching bag as the crowd was loudly booing him. As the fight went, on he didn’t look like a former WBA Regular cruiserweight champion or the man who beat Tony Yoka.

Anderson made the fight look easy and did the same thing over and over again – come forward behind the jab and land the occasional body shot. It wasn’t his fault the fight was so horrific as Merhy never looked to mount an offense. He fought like a man scared to get hit.

This fight was so uneventful that it cured this author’s insomnia. When the final bell sound putting everyone out of their misery, one judge scored it 99-91, as the other two saw it 100-90 in favor Anderson.

Despite having an opponent that simple came to collect a paycheck, Big Baby proved why pundits believe he is the next upcoming American heavyweight champion.
