The Opportunity for Jermall Charlo v Demetrius Andrade is Here
Rivalry fights make fans flock to arenas to see fighters settle their beef in the ring. The long-standing beef between two-divisional champions Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (31-0, 19KO) and Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (32-0, 22KO) is one rivalry that fits this billing.
This beef goes back to when both fighters competed in the junior middleweight division. In fairness, Andrade has made bad decisions in the past that did prevent the fight from happening. However, he has been campaigning hard for the fight over the last couple of years.

In 2021, Boo Boo took to social media with claims of directing his team to petition the WBC to make him mandatory. Charlo, himself, called out Andrade back in July. Fans have scoffed at this notion in the past, but there is a chance they may finally settle things in 2023.
THERE ARE NO MORE EXCUSES OR ROADBLOCKS
When Andrade’s contract ended with Matchroom Boxing, 3Kings Boxing predicted Premier Boxing Champions to be Boo Boo’s obvious choice. This tracks with his return to Showtime on the undercard of Gervonta Davis versus Hector Luis Garcia on January 7.
This is good news, leaving nothing in the way to stop the fight from happening. While speaking with the press to promote his upcoming super middleweight fight against Demond Nicholson, Andrade explained that now is the time to make the fight with his arch-rival.
“Yeah, right now it’s like Charlo . . . there is no reason why Charlo and Andrade can’t happen. I’m just saying it’s that time, anyway.”
“Me and Charlo . . . We have a rivalry, we have shit talking, we have a history . . . there’s a history, there’s build-up there. There’s a real job there to be done.”
“At the end of the day, it takes two to tangle. He has to want to agree too, and everything has to be right, of course. But there’s no excuses now.”
