Jhon Orobio Makes Quick Work Of Jacopo Colli
In a battle of undefeated junior welterweight prospects, Jhon “El Tigre” Orobio (12-0, 11KO) didn’t break a sweat in a first round stoppage over Jacopo “The Swingboy” Colli (9-1-1, 4KO).
Fans who walked to the bathroom or arrived at the building late are watching the replay or asking someone what they missed. Colli was supposed to test the young Colombian but became a doormat.
Within seconds of the opening bell El Tigre landed a punishing overhand right that sent the Italian stumbling to the canvas. Although The Swingboy got back up, Orobio landed a barrage of punches that put Colli back on the canvas.
The referee waved off the fight as Colli was visibly dazed and unresponsive. Orobio showed why Eye of The Tiger Management was excited when they signed him.
Orobio, 21 years old, speed, footwork, combination punching, and power is still peaking. Typically with young fighters, there is a slow bring-along process. However, he can be fast tracked and fight someone ranked within the top 15 next.
