Johnny Fisher Scores A Quick Stoppage Over Alen Babic
In a heavyweight showdown that featured two brawlers, prospect Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher (12-0, 11KO) made quick work of Alen “The Savage” Babic (12-2, 11KO).
A fight that Matchroom Boxing’s Chairman Eddie Hearn called a stiff test for Fisher turned out to be a 30 second one-round fight. The fighter’s ring walk and introductions lasted longer than the actual match itself.
Fighting in front of the home crowd, The Romford Bull came out boxing behind a decent jab before landing a powerful right hand. It was the beginning of the end as Fisher continued to unleash punishing shots that dropped Babic to the canvas.
Despite getting up, Babic was on wobbly legs and stumbled across the ring forcing the referee to stop the fight. In this author’s opinion, the Croatian should have been allowed to see if he could recover.
Nonetheless, Fisher looked impressive in a solid step-up fight. During the post-fight interview, Hearn sent out a warning to both domestic heavyweights Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke.
