Joe Joyce to face Alexander Ustinov ahead of possible clash with Daniel Dubois!
Unbeaten heavyweight prospect and 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist Joe Joyce (8-0, 8KOs) will return May 18 against longtime fringe-contender Alexander Ustinov (34-3, 25KOs). The fight will take place on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders vs Shefat Isufi.
The former Olympian has been very active since turning pro in late 2017. His most recent victory came over former WBC Heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne. His sights are set on a potential showdown with fellow hard-hitting heavyweight prospect Daniel Dubois (11-0, 10KOs) in the fall.
However, he must first get by the 6’7″, battle-tested Ustinov. He’s been in the ring with quality opposition in Kurbat Pulev, Manuel Charr and David Tua, all during their respective primes.
This should be a decent test for Joyce as he draws closer to the potential huge domestic bout that lies ahead!
