Katie Taylor Accepts a Challenge from Chantelle Cameron!

The boxing community is going crazy as undisputed lightweight champion Katie “KT” Taylor (22-0, 6KO) is willing to fight her amateur rival, undisputed junior welterweight Chantelle “Il Capo” Cameron (17-0, 8KO).

Taylor was scheduled to rematch undisputed featherweight champion Amanda Serrano in a homecoming showdown. However, Serrano suffered an injury, resulting in the fight’s postponement. Boxing fans were dealt a huge kick in the gut as everyone wanted to see the rematch considering the fireworks in their first encounter.

THE TWEET THAT STARTED IT ALL

Cameron took to social media suggesting that a fight with Taylor should take place since Serrano was out. She didn’t think it would happen, but believed it would be a good scrap.

Fighters, fans, and pundits went crazy after seeing the response from KT. This fight has been brewing since their amateur days. Taylor got the better of Cameron in the semi-finals of the 2011 EU championships. Il Capo has been seeking revenge ever since that defeat.

Cameron has spoken to 3kingsboxing.com on several occasions and has always felt it was a fight that members of Team Taylor were not interested in making. Well, she may finally get what has been her most desired fight following the endorsement from Taylor.
