Katie Taylor Eager to Battle Chantelle Cameron In Front of Her Home Fans

It’s a homecoming for undisputed women’s lightweight champion Katie Taylor (22-0, 6 KOs). On May 20, she fights for the first time in her native country of Ireland as she will take on the current undisputed junior welterweight champion, Chantelle Cameron (17-0, 8 KOs) at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. A long time coming, Taylor is enthusiastic to finally fight in front of her family, friends, and loved ones.

PUMPED UP AND READY TO FIGHT

The lightweight champion has spent her career fighting abroad and blazing a trail for women’s boxing. Taylor is arguably the best female fighter in the sport and a future Hall of Famer. During an interview with news outlet iFL TV, the 35-year-old talked about her excitement about her upcoming fight.

“Yeah, it’s amazing. Only a few days away of making my homecoming fight; Six years in as a pro, twenty-two fights. It’s crazy to think that this is my first fight here. I’m so excited about it, and I can’t wait to step in there now and perform.”

Cameron is a terrific fighter in her own right. The junior welterweight champion has long wanted to fight Taylor. During prefight interviews, Cameron has been adamant that she intends to be the ultimate spoiler. She has gone on record and predicted a dominant victory.

Taylor has other plans in mind. Fighting in front of what should be an adoring crowd, she’s on a mission to leave as the ring winner and the two-division undisputed champion.

“It’s going to be another epic fight. I think two undisputed champions going head to head; it has all the makings of another epic fight. So, we’re going to have to see how it goes. Well, I’m obviously very, very confident that I’m going to come out victorious.”
