Keyshawn Davis Doesn’t Believe Tank Would Land The Left Hand
Top lightweight contender Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (11-0, 7KO) believes WBA champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (30-0, 28KO) is a one-trick pony. He feels the WBA champion wouldn’t be able to handle his offensive attack if they were to step in the ring.
The Businessman is close to a title shot against one of the champions in the division. Since winning the 3kingsboxing.com 2023 Prospect of the Year award, he has turned in even more noteworthy performances in 2024.
In his supposedly biggest test against two-division champion Jose Pedraza, the Virginian mauled down the Puerto Rican in six rounds. With his confidence at an all-time high, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he has Tank in the crosshairs.
HE ONLY HAS ONE PUNCH
During an interview on Top Rank Boxing, Davis stated that avoiding Tank’s left hand is the only concern.
“We all know what Tank got. He got that one-shot to knock you out so that’s the only thing I’m looking out for. I feel like when it comes to me, you have to look out for a lot . . . I feel like I have more weapons than he got.”
“You’re not just going to catch me, bro. I got good defense. I just feel like with me and Tank it’s going to be a lot that he’s worried about with me. But, he’s not going to say that.”
Like it or not, Davis isn’t alone in believing that Tank is somewhat of a one-dimensional fighter. The undefeated prospect points to how the Baltimore power puncher got outboxed in fights before landing that one-hitter quitter left hand.
Avoiding the left hand is easier said than done. There has been only two fighters that managed to go the distance with the WBA champion. Yet, The Businessman is positive that he can defeat Davis.
