The Businessman Earns Prospect Of The Year Award For 2023

Lightweight contender Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (9-0, 6KO) kept a busy schedule in 2023, and it has earned him the 3Kings Boxing Prospect of the Year honors.

The Businessman is one of the brightest young stars in the division and boxing. The 2020 Olympic silver medalist has seriously turned things up by storming through the ranking, inching closer to a world title shot.

His last three opponents had an impressive combined record of 70-7-1, and they all were coming off solid win streaks before fighting Davis.

FOUGHT SOLID OPPOSITION

On April 8, 2023, the Virginian took on veteran and one-time junior welterweight title challenger Anthony Yigit. Davis gave boxing fans and pundits something to talk about in this one-sided thudding en route to scoring a ninth-round stoppage.

A few months later, he stepped in the ring against another experienced veteran in Francisco Pantera. Davis put those boxing skills to work and almost pitched a shutout as two judges gave him a perfect score of 100-89 en route to a unanimous decision.

On October 14, 2023, the undefeated contender proved he could take a shot and make the correct adjustments in real time in the fight against Nahir Albright. Davis showed true grit and dug deep to grind out a victory to close 2023 on a high note.

Davis isn’t looking to take the foot off the gas in 2024. Ranked inside the top ten by three of the governing sanctioning bodies, he is in the perfect position to make a run for the title.

The young talented contender is due to take on two-divisional champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza. A victory would undoubtedly give him a huge boost in the ranking and closer to a possible title shot in 2024.
