Keyshawn Davis Wants Andy Cruz Fight Sooner Than Later
Since hitting the professional market, former silver medal Olympian Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (9-0, 6 KO’s) has called for nothing but big names and big fights. Yet, one name that he unquestionably wants more than any other is Andy Cruz (1-0, 0 KO’s). Cruz and Davis have a long history as the Cuban defeated The Businessman four times as an amateur. As one could imagine, Davis definitely wants his revenge. And as he explained to iFL TV he’d rather mix it up as quickly as possible.
“I want to fight sooner rather than later. If it were up to me, I would want to fight him first before any other top prospect just to close that chapter and move on to everyone else. That’s what I would want.”
ABLE BUT NOT WILLING
In boxing however, it takes two to tango and this may prove problematic for Davis. As 3Kings Boxing reported, when previously asked about the matter, Cruz felt that the fight with The Businessman should come down the line. So unless the Cuban has a sharp turn of heart, or is offered a significant amount of money, his disinterest will likely leave Davis wanting.
Even though Cruz got the best of him so many times, Davis is convinced that this was a product of the amateur rules. If competing in the professional ranks, The Businessman believes that not only will he beat his rival, but he will stop him. It certainly would be a good time putting Davis’s hypothesis to the test. Yet for the time being, it’ll remain a juicy fantasy fight.
