Sergey Kovalev-Anthony Yarde postponed until August with a purse bid ordered for June 11!

3kingsboxing.com has learned the fight between WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev and mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde has been pushed back from June 29, to a date in August that’s yet to be determined.

The Russian investors who are funding the fight would like for it to take place in August. Yarde had agreed to travel to the champion’s home country for his first title opportunity.

However, with the news of the fight being pushed back, due to unsigned contracts for this event, a purse bid has been ordered for June 11 in Queens, NY.

The Russian investors would still like to stage the fight in Kovalev’s hometown of Chelyabinsk, Russia in an arena that holds 8,000 people.
