Kuroda decisions Hoshino for his third defense of the Japanese flyweight title.
A good fight took place on July 23 in Japan that many did not know was on the bill.
Number one rated WBA flyweight contender Masayuki Kuroda takes an extremely close fight against Akinori Hoshino (14-8-2, 9KO).
In a back and forth battle with punishing exchanges, Kuroda’s aggressiveness was just enough in the judges eyes to get him the nod. The scorecards read like this 95-94, 96-93 (x2).
Back in 2013, he was unsuccessful in a title fight against then champion Juan Carlos Reveco. However, With this win, he is now in line to challenge WBA champion Artem Dalakian.
