Denis Lebedev eyes Oleksandr Usyk for his final fight.
Former IBF and WBA crusierweight champion Denis Lebedev has his sights set on Oleksandr Usyk for his final career fight.
At nearly forty years of age, Lebedev (32-2, 23KOs) is on a three-fight win streak since losing a 12 round split decision against Murat Gassiev in December of 2016.
There’s been much speculation that Usyk’s next move would be heading north a division to heavyweight. However, Usyk was noncommittal in his post fight interview after his win over Tony Bellew when asked about his future plans.
Although he has recently mentioned his desire to fight the winner of Dillian Whyte vs Derek Chisora on December 22. Additionally, there have been rumblings of unified heavyweight chamion Anthony Joshua exploring a possible bout with the cruiserweight king for his April 13 date.
Nevertheless, Usyk has yet to be definitive on what he will do next.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor this situation and provide any updates as they become available.
