Linares Eyes Lomachenko, Davis, Haney and Lopez at 135!

Three division world champion Jorge Linares (47-5, 29KOs) recently revealed his hit list of opponents he’s targeting once boxing resumes. The former champion has experienced the highs and the lows of boxing and is eager to get back to championship status.

Riding a two-fight winning streak since his surprising loss to Pablo Cesar Cano (33-7-1, 23KOs) in 2018, the Japanese-born Venezuelan wants to extract some revenge on the man known as “Hi-Tech” Vasyl Lomachenko (14-1, 10KOs). The two gave us a memorable fight in 2018 that saw Linares become the first man to ever knock down Lomachenko in the professional ranks. Ultimately, he would succumb to a vicious body shot in the tenth round.

READY TO TANGLE WITH LOMACHENKO AGAIN AND THE YOUNG GUNS!

“Now I have so many competition because you know, in this weight division there is so many good fighters, so many good boxers. Young boxers too, new talent. But I think for me the first one who I want to fight so much, this is this one (Lomachenko), the rematch. I want that so much.

Then this one (Tank Davis). He’s an amazing boxer, he’s good. He’s strong, he’s fast, but after the fight with Gamboa, I was thinking I have a lot of chance, and also this one too (Devin Haney). Then Teofimo Lopez, he is a strong guy and is the new IBF world champion but I am ready to fight with all the best boxers at 135. But now what I want so very much is the Lomachenko rematch.”

Linares, even at the age of 34, is a legitimate threat to all of the aforementioned fighters due to his skills and experience. It’ll be interesting to see who he gets a chance against once boxing resumes.
