At the moment, Montana “Too Pretty” Love (17-0-1, 9 KO’s) is riding a professional high. Two bouts ago, he secured his best professional win over Ivan Baranchyk who he defeated by knockout. The outcome was even more satisfying because it was the first match on his short-term promotional contract with Matchroom Boxing and DAZN. To close the year, Love roughed up and stopped Carlos Diaz in three rounds.

Seeking to have an even better 2022, Too Pretty is already thinking about his next dance partner. Love has been very vocal about his desire to test his might with Gervonta Davis and undisputed super lightweight champion Josh Taylor. Yet, if being realistic, the Cleveland native is not likely to snag those prizefights. In something of an admission of this fact, Love publicly called out fellow Ohioan Adrien “The Problem” Broner (34-4-1, 24 KO’s).

BATTLE OF OHIO

Broner is actually a good selection, assuming that a contract can be penned. The Cincinnati wild man has never failed to secure attention or work boxing fans into a lather. These notable tools have seen to it that the Problem has remained a potent ticker seller. On the flipside, Broner has been wildly inactive. He only fought one time in 2021 and not at all in 2020. Before that ,the four-division world champion only fought one time apiece in 2019 and 2018. There has been some indication that Broner is gearing up to slide into the square-circle again. However, you just never know.

There is little to no doubt that Broner’s involvement alone all but guarantees the bout will receive a great deal of attention. Then, if Love could win, he would be granted a whole new level of credibility. Sure, Broner has typically lost when facing the higher echelon of fighters such as Shawn Porter, Mikey Garcia and Manny Pacquiao. Even with this being said, Broner typically holds his own and generally beats himself with low output rather than being seriously outclassed by his opposition. Should Love defeat Broner, he would certainly be viewed as a serious threat in the super lightweight division.
