Unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr, who promotes Martin, revealed to the public that big news was on the way. Naturally, fans thought it was about finalizing the fight with Chris “Primetime” Colbert that looked to be in the works. Spence shocked the fans with a post claiming Colbert was not on the list.

MARTIN VERSUS RIVERA IS A GOOD FIGHT

The Ghost’s last outing was in a tough fight against Marinez, who was a late replacement. He got the stoppage and proved to the boxing world he has a place in a stacked lightweight division. The #10 rated WBA Detroit native is very talented with good boxing ability and power. He will be facing the toughest challenge of his career in Rivera.

Dominican-born boxer Rivera is a threat in the division and has been climbing up the professional rankings since 2016. He has proven dominant in this situation before, on March 26, against upcoming fighter Joseph Adorno.

In his last outing, he had another excellent performance against Jerry Perez on October 15. Rivera will be putting on the line his high-ranking status as #2 WBA, #6 IBF, #10 WBO, and #12 WBC.

Fans can expect to see both fighters at their best, with the winner calling for a world title shot.
