Mayweather v Paul exhibition a waste of time!
Former pound for pound great Floyd “Money” Mayweather (50-0, 27KOs) is back in the headlines again! No he will not be fighting Manny Pacquiao in a rematch of their 2015 astronomical money fight. He also will not be fighting unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr or WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford.
Hell, he will not even be fighting a boxer! Instead, there is a rumor going around that the future Hall Of Famer could be fighting Logan Paul! That is right, you read correctly, YouTube star Logan Paul. Obviously this will not be a sanctioned bout, but instead an exhibition bout. This is obviously a money grab, but why not fight a former boxer for “fun”? Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr are doing it in November. So why not Floyd Mayweather as well?
Paul is a guy who makes videos for a living and does outlandish things. Maybe he was chosen because of his big personality and his willingness to say crazy shit! The trash talk would be mildly entertaining, maybe. However, the fight would be nothing less than a circus show. Mayweather, who craves the attention, will bank another $20+ million and score an easy win in a fake fight. Exhibitions are not meant to be anything other than a watered down fight, but still the potential selection of Logan Paul is disappointing.
There is nothing confirmed but knowing Mayweather and how he operates, no one should be surprised if this comes to fruition.
