Oscar Collazo Versus Melvin Jerusalem Rematch Set
A rematch at 105 pounds will occur on March 14 as the division’s unified champion, Oscar “El Pupilo” Collazo (13-0, 10 KOs), faces WBC champion Melvin Jerusalem (25-3, 12 KOs) in Southern California. For Collazo, it’s the next step in his mission to become undisputed, while Jerusalem gets his long-awaited chance for revenge.
JERUSALEM FIGHTS HIS WAY BACK TO COLLAZO
In their initial encounter, Collazo scored a seventh-round stoppage over Jerusalem to win the WBO minimumweight belt in May 2023. Since then, El Pupilo has been dominant and, to many pundits, has emerged as a standout fighter in the sport’s lower-weight divisions.
Jerusalem hasn’t been shy about wanting another shot at the current unified champion. The Filipino fighter hasn’t lost since that setback, has captured the WBC title, and is competing with renewed confidence and vigor.
A serious argument can be made that this is the best fight that can be made at 105 pounds. Jerusalem insists the outcome will be different this time, while Collazo is confident history will repeat itself. On March 14, the boxing public will finally get its answer.
