Miguel Cotto Deserves This Says Oscar De La Hoya

Oscar Says Cotto Deserves To Go Out With Ali

While he tried to get a “bigger” name for Miguel Cotto to fight onDecember 2nd, Oscar De La Hoya fully supports the Puerto Rico native finishing his career against Sadam Ali. The Golden Boy boss said it will be a packed house at Madison Square Garden as well during an international conference call.

Cotto (41-5, 33 KOs) is finishing his career with a fight against welterweight Ali (25-1, 14 KOs) on HBO Championship Boxing. While Ali may not be the ideal opponent Oscar says Cottodeserves it;

“Miguel Cotto has had an amazing career, a stellar career. Miguel Cotto deserves the chance of a lifetime of trying to go out on top on HBO at the Garden,” said De La Hoya.

Cotto somewhat echoed De La Hoya’s statement by saying;

“I’ve been fighting since i was 8 years old. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. Like (promoter) Oscar (De La Hoya) said, I dare to be great,” said Cotto. “I enjoyed my whole career, every moment made me the boxer I am right now. My whole career has been amazing for me.”

In an article (Link Below) last week we agreed with the sentiments of both De La Hoya and Cotto.
