Jarrell Miller: “I’m Working on a New Deal!”

It should come as little to surprise that Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (23-0-1, 20 KO’s) is in between promotional companies. Earlier this year, the Brooklyn native was the center piece of one of boxing’s worst failed drug test cases. Ever!

Miller was flagged by VADA for having GW1516, HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and EPO in his system all at the same time.

After changing his story once or twice, Big Baby is now sticking to his current story that a doctor gave him a shot that lead to this disastrous doping circus. The shot was supposedly to help mend a bum elbow Miller was nursing. During an interview conducted by Fight Hype, Miller was very open to discussing the unsightly mishap.

“First of all, Eddie Hearn always pumping shit and jumping to conclusions. But like I said, what I got caught with, what my problem was, was an injury I was dealing with. Already proven! What he [Dillian Whyte] got caught with was a hardcore body building drug. What I took wasn’t a steroid, see what I’m trying to say?”

WALKING A LONELY ROAD

Whether you believe it or not, that’s Miller’s take on the situation. Regardless of how anyone feels about the scandal, Miller was handed a meaningless six-month ban by the WBA and is now looking to resume his career.

Although, at the moment he is proceeding without any representation. Prior to his illicit chemical woes, Miller had a co-promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing and Salita Promotions. Both of these unions have been dissolved.

“All my promotional contracts are scrapped right now. I’m working on a new deal, I’m trying to figure it out. I’m actually going through a court case with Dmitry Salita and Gary Cohen Promotions because I want to benefit my career and health and see the promotions that got my best interest. Know what I’m trying to say?

“So listen, I don’t want to be bothered with those guys no more. I have control of my career and made the right decision.”

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Given the circumstances, Miller is maintaining his high spirits. Really, there is no reason why he shouldn’t have a jovial disposition. Even after his triple-drug scandal, Big Baby’s name is still being mentioned as a potential opponent for some very serious players at heavyweight.

Most notably, Miller was presented as a would-be foe for Tyson Fury. When all was said and done, however, Fury went with the little known Swedish fighter Otto Wallin. When questioned on the matter, Miller was not surprised he didn’t get the call.

“It was all for effects. It wasn’t going to happen no time soon. I mean, the guy he is fighting is decent, you know what I mean? I’m looking at October to make my return, so I’m getting ready for that baby.”
