Mosley Jr Gets Decision, Sandoval Stops Ortiz On Nery vs Hovhannisyan Undercard
In a super middleweight showdown, Shane Mosley Jr (19-4, 10KO) picked up a solid win against Alberto Lozano (33-11, 24KO). Mosley Jr started this fight by coming forward behind the jab and went to the body early. Lozano fought back in the second half, landing some nice shots of his own. However, Mosley’s bodywork was telling the story as he picked up the pace and closed the show strong. When the final bell sounded, one judge scored it 100-90 as the other two had it 99-91 in favor of Mosley Jr. 3Kings Boxing had it 97-93 in favor for Mosley Jr.
RICARDO SANDOVAL PUTS JERSON ORTIZ AWAY WITH A BODY SHOT
Flyweight Ricardo Sandoval (21-2, 16KO) made quick work of Jerson Ortiz (17-7, 8KO). The bout started like it was going to be a fire fight as both men were aggressive in their attack. Then just like that, Sandoval landed a body shot that took the wind out of Ortiz’ sails! The shot dropped him to the canvas in a fetal position. The referee did not waste time counting and quickly waved off the fight. Ranked in the top ten by the WBC and WBA, Sandoval called for a title shot.
