Jackie Nava and Mariana Juarez

Jackie Nava & Mariana Juarez to fight again in hopes of a mega-fight next year

Jackie Nava (34-4-3, 15 KOs) will face younger fighter Dayana Cordero (17-5-3, 12 KOs) for the Interim WBA Bantamweight title. Mariana Juarez (50-9-4, 18 KOs) will defend the WBC bantamweight title against Susie Ramadan (27-2, 12 KOs).

These aren’t the ideal situations fans & pundits would like to see. Nonetheless, these two great fighters are in the ring again. The showdown between these two top Mexican female fighters has all of us waiting for that announcement.

However, you can’t overlook their chosen opponents; both challengers are capable of the upset.

Nava, a 38 year old Tijuana native, looked impressive in her first fight back from a long layoff against Alys Sanchez.

Cordero, a 22 year old Colombian fighter, came down in weight after competing at super-bantamweight; winning the Interim WBA Female bantamweight title in the process. Don’t take her lightly. Having experience against fighters, Alejandra Marina Oliveras and Yesica Patricia Marcos makes things interesting.

Juarez, am the 38 year old champion, will have her hands full with former two-time world champion Ramadan, who is 39.

The Australian fighter, Ramadan, is coming off a three fight win streak; winning all by knock out and bringing the possibility of an upset. She will travel to Mexico again; the place where she suffered her only two defeats to Yazmin Rivas.
