Luis Nery drops McJoe Arroyo 4 times en route to a fifth round knockout.
In a battle of Mexico vs Puerto Rico, two former southpaw champions collided.
In the opening stanza, former WBC bantamweight champion Luis Nery came out guns blazing immediately; applying non-stop pressure on McJoe Arroyo.
That would continue in round two as Nery would continue his assault to the body and head of Arroyo, eventually scoring a knockdown. He would score another knockdown after a left-right uppercut combination connected.
After two more knockdowns in the fourth round, Arroyo’s corner saw enough and threw in the towel. The victory was ruled a fifth round KO.
Nery, one of the best fighters in the world, showed why tonight as he dominated the fight from beginning to end. He improved his perfect record to 29-0, 23 KOs, while also extending his knockout streak to ten consecutive fights.
