Skye Nicholson Hopeful for Undisputed with Ellie Scotney
In her latest tour of duty, interim WBC super bantamweight champion Skye Nicolson (15-1, 3 KO’s) defeated Mexican adversary Yulihan Luna by way of unanimous decision. The win was a solid way to end the year that began with a split decision loss to Tiara Brown back on March 22. Nicolson now has her hopes on challenging super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney for undisputed.
With the fresh win under her belt, Nicolson is not looking to waste any time. During her post-fight interview, she let it be known she was targeting unified champion Scotney. Presently, Scotney has an upcoming dance date with WBA 122-pound champion Mayelli Flores to crown the undisputed champion of the division. Nicolson plans on becoming the WBC mandatory of whoever the victor is. Yet, it appears evident that Nicolson is pulling for Scotney to prevail.
“Yeah, I was promised I’ll be made mandatory for the WBC – the full title. So Ellie holds that right now, she obviously has a fight scheduled for undisputed. So, hopefully she comes through that fight and we can have a big undisputed showdown early next year!”
