Official Announcement Should Come Any Day

Joshua/Parker

It seems we are still just a little way off of seeing a unification between WBA Super & IBF Champion Anthony Joshua and WBO Champion Joseph Parker finally sign on the dotted line for their scheduled unification clash in either March or April of this year.

David Higgins who promotes Parker is said to have flown into London today to finalise negotiations for a unification bout on British soil this spring.

Talks between both parties have been going on for some time now. Most of the holdup has been around the purse split for the bout, with the WBO Champion first wanting 40% although it is now said that Parker is believed to have accepted somewhere between 30 and 35 percent, the venue and date are still somewhat up in the air.

Hearn exclusively told Sky Sports earlier today “”David Higgins landed this morning and we are meeting this afternoon to plough through the agreement and solve any outstanding issues,”

“If we can do that then it’s likely Joseph Parker will jump on a plane towards the end of this week. Fingers crossed.”

Both men have been engaged in a war of words for some time now, with Anthony Joshua’s chin being called into question in a bizarre press conference last year.

Both fighters will not only put their championships, but their unbeaten records on the line in this fight. I hope for all our sakes we see this fight formally announced this week.
