Jai Opetaia vs David Benavidez Targeted for May 2027!
In his latest tour of duty, heavy-handed cruiserweight Jai Opetaia (31-0, 23 KO’s) defeated Noel Mikaeljan (28-4, 12 KO’s) by way of ninth round TKO. The devastating finish was made all the more impressive given that the tough Armenian had never previously been stopped. Now, Opetaia has his eye on a clash with unified cruiserweight champion David “The Monster” Benavidez.
Following the action of the prizefight, Opetaia continued providing excitement by calling Benavidez into the ring. Once face to face, all the while coming across like old drinking buddies, they mutually agreed to return to the T-Mobile Arena to face each other during the Cinco de Mayo weekend 2027.

Given the way that both of these fighters move, barring any unforeseen calamities, it appears as though we have one sensational fight already locked and loaded for 2027.
