Nordine Oubaali could possibly fight Takuma Inoue

Undefeated fighter WBC bantamweight champion Nordine Oubaali could possibly defend the title against interim champion Takuma Inoue. As of now, nothing has been announced officially. However, it is the most logical fight available, especially considering the schedules of the other champions.

VIEWING THE OPTIONS

In the World Boxing Super Series looms the unification showdown between champions Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire and Naoya “Monster” Inoue. That match takes place November 7. WBO champion Zolani Tete is still sidelined recovering from an injury. Even if he’s cleared to fight, normally, fighters take a soft touch to see if their body is fully healed. The 33-year old French WBC champion has made it clear he wants a unification bout. Although, as of right now, it’s won’t happen anytime soon.

LOGICAL CHOICE

Rumors are circulating Asian media that Inoue has been sparring with a common foe in Mark Anthony Geraldo. Geraldo, a southpaw fighter, is a former challenger of the WBC champion from 2017.

3kingsboxing reported the champion’s desire of wanting a fight with the older Inoue. He would definitely get his attention by beating the younger sibling.

This fight can occupy an undercard slot for the WBSS finals unification bout. It would serve as a build up for a possible mega fight, bringing us closer to an undisputed champion.

EASIER SAID THEN DONE

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, there is still work that needs to be completed. Many within the boxing community feel that the heavily-favorited Inoue will basically annihilate the underdog Donaire. That isn’t the case when it comes to fighting the younger Interim champion. He doesn’t possess his brother’s knockout power, but his overall boxing ability is solid. Oubaali, is a very skillful boxer with power. Although, he isn’t very well popular within the community, and this fight could change that.

3kingsboxing will continue to monitor this story for any further development.
