Lorenzo Simpson: a middleweight hopeful!
Lorenzo “Truck” Simpson (9-0, 5KOs) is a rising middleweight prospect. The 5’10, Baltimore, Maryland native is a southpaw with solid skills and power. Before turning pro in 2018, he would amass an amateur record of 182-3.
As an amateur, he collected six National Silver Gloves. In 2016, he would become Youth Open Champion and also be named Most Outstanding Male Boxer of the tournament. He would follow that up with winning the 2017 U.S. National Junior Championship, as well as the Bradenburg Cup silver medal and 2018 Youth Continental Championships silver medal.

TAKING THE SLOW ROUTE!
As of late, there have been a lot of prospects being fast-tracked on the pro level. The reason for that is an extensive amateur career as well the age, as some of these prospects did not turn pro until their mid-to-late 20’s. That is not the case for Simpson. The twenty year old is being brought along at a slow pace. Although he is extremely experienced, you never want to rush a fighter to the next level before he or she is truly ready.
FIGHTING STYLE!
Simpson is a patient fighter who throws a right jab that sets up his straight left to the body. While he is nicknamed “Truck”, indicative of his power, he does not posses one-hitter-quitter power. He mixes his punches up well, often throwing the right hook while going downstairs to his opponents body.
2021 RING DEBUT!
Simpson will make his 2021 ring debut on April 17. His opponent, Francisco Emanuel Torres (16-3, 5KOs), will be nothing other than a tune-up. He has another chance to show the world that he has the skills and power to be a major player in the middleweight division down the road. You can catch his fight on Triller.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to follow Simpson as he makes his way up the middleweight rankings.
