Scott Quigg continues comeback trail on the under-card of Saunders vs Andrade
Former WBA super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg will return to the ring in an 8 rounder against Mario Briones.
He last fought in March losing a unanimous decision against WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez. His opponent Briones (29-7-2, 21KOs) last fought in July against Felix Caraballo. He would lose that fight by third round knockout.
The former champion is looking to position himself for another title shot opportunity. However, this fight is deemed a tune-up and he is currently un-ranked by all four major sanctioning bodies.
Nevertheless, due to name recognition, a win could set him up for a big fight against the winner of Carl Frampton vs Josh Warrington in 2019!
