LOOKING AT THE DIVISION
It is confirmed that the Postol fight is on hold until 2020. However, this news also suggests that other fights could be delayed as well.
There is still the WBO mandatory Jack Catterall that at some point will need to be fulfilled. It could also delay an undisputed bout with the Josh Taylor vs Regis Prograis unification bout until alter in 2020. Taylor and Prograis are the IBF and WBA champions, respectively.
However, the unified champion has made it clear to the fans that upon a return, getting back to business is a priority.
“I just need my hand to heal and I’ll give anybody a run for their money.”~ Jose Ramirez via Twitter
The junior welterweight division has been on fire this year and is one of the reasons why the sport has flourished. Even given this sad news about the Mexican champion, fans can still look forward to an even better year in 2020.
