Jesus Ramos Targets Title Fight After Stopping Schramm!
Following a destructive, one-sided performance, Jesus “El Mono” Ramos Jr. (23-1, 19 KO’s) crushed Guido “GES” Schramm (16-4-2, 9 KO’s) by way of TKO. Wasting zero time, Ramos tore into his outmatched and outgunned foe from the opening bell. In fact, by the third period, a vicious body attack had GES looking like could use a breather…or a tag-team partner.
By displaying a good amount of grit, Schramm would soldier on until the seventh when a cold-hearted left hook jellied his legs and forced referee Mark Nelson to halt the action. This was a solid win for Ramos Jr. who is currently ranked #4 (WBA), #4 (WBC), #8 (WBO) and #8 (IBF).
With the showcase victory, El Mono has a number of options at his disposal. Due to his standings, Ramos is in realistic striking distance of matches with Charles Conwell, Xander Zayas, Vergil Ortiz Jr. and Erickson Lubin.
While all of these are solid matches and great names, Ramos does have history with Lubin. As Lubin is the man who put the only blemish on his professional record, El Mono may look to avenge that loss and even the score. Yet, in his post-fight interview, Ramos expressed his interest in facing the main event winner between unified junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora and Chordale Booker.
