Riakporhe Topples Tshikeva; Targets Wardley or Dubois Title Fight
In his latest tour of duty, heavyweight fighter Richard “Midnight Train” Riakporhe (20-1, 16 KO’s) toppled Jeamie “TKV” Tshikeva (9-3, 5 KO’s) by way of fifth-round TKO. With the spoils of war, Riakporhe collected Tshikeva’s BBBofC British heavyweight title.
With the win under his belt, Riakporhe has already set his sights on his next target, as he expressed during his post-fight interview:
“I want to challenge for the heavyweight world title. I am going to keep my eye on this match-up coming soon. Wardley versus Daniel Dubois, I would love to fight the winner! And if I don’t get that one, then I like Johnny Fisher.”
In this speech, Riakporhe made reference to the upcoming May 9 showdown between WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KO’s) versus Daniel “Dynamite” Dubois (22-3, 21 KO’s). As he has thrown his cards down on the table, now we first have to see who does prevail in the May 9 dust-up and if that victor has any interest in dancing with the former cruiserweight champion, Riakporhe. Until then however, its back to the waiting game for us all. So let’s see what happens in the upcoming weeks!
