Rigondeaux returns with PBC
It’s being reported that former lineal bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux has signed with Al Haymon’s PBC brand. He will be looking to stage a comeback and erase the memory of the Vasyl Lomachenko bout.
This move could be positive or negative depending on how certain fans view it. He constantly had promoter issues along with a long period of being avoided. Ironically, the same fighters that avoided him at Bantamweight are with PBC.
The 38 year-old Cuban southpaw once signed with Roc Nation still saw inactivity plagued by lackluster performances.
However, they are now fighting at featherweight. Furthermore, with the WBSS tournament taking place, the question is “will he finally be active and how much is left of his career?”
There are plenty of possible opponents at featherweight that can be ready for a fight by the end of the year.
A plan could also be in place to be fighting for a title in late 2019. This is the possibly his last chance so let’s see if the most is made of this opportunity!
