Rob Brant Dazzles Against Vitalii Kopylenko
Former WBA regular middleweight champion Robert “Bravo” Brant (26-2, 18KOs), accompanied by new trainer Brian McIntyre, put on a dominant one-sided performance against Vitalii Kopylenko (28-3, 16KOs). After his knockout loss to Ryota Murata (16-2, 13KOs) to relinquish his title, he had to shake things up. The Minnesota native was dominant from the moment the bell rang, utilizing his advantages in skills, athleticism and hand speed. Brant would work over Kopylenko.
On display was a jab that kept Kopylenko at bay, often keeping him unable to really let his hands go. Following that would be left hooks and right hands that would snap the head back of the over-matched Ukrainian. Listening to the instructions of McIntyre, Brant would lump Kopylenko’s left eye so bad that referee Jay Nady would call the right after the fifth round.
This performance was a well-needed confidence booster for Brant, who’s looking to get back into title contention.
