Brandon Figueroa And Mark Magsayo Could Compete for a Vacant Title!
Former WBC super bantamweight champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa (23-1-1, 18KO) and former WBC featherweight champion Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo (24-1, 16KO) could be fighting next. Depending on what happens with WBC featherweight champion Rey Vargas, it could become a title fight.

According to ESPN Deportes, a fight between The Heartbreaker and Magnifico is in the works for March 4. The Boxing community will be confused by this as it conflicts with reports that Figueroa is to rematch unified super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton on February 25.
FIGUEROA AND MAGSAYO COULD BE FIGHTING FOR A TITLE
When looking at the rankings, Figueroa is ranked number one by the WBC, with Magsayo holding down the number three spot. Former world champion Isaac Dogboe is sitting at the number two spot. However, he is set to fight Robeisy Ramirez for the vacant WBO title behind Emanuel Navarrete moving up.
In addition, they could be fighting for the vacant WBC title considering the champion, Vargas, could move up, provided a victory for the vacant junior lightweight title.

Figueroa won the WBC title eliminator by defeating Carlos Castro on July 9, 2022. The former world champion dominated the fight before scoring the sixth-round stoppage in front of the hometown Texas crowd.
Magsayo captured the title after defeating “Mr.” Gary Russell on January 22, 2022. He lost the first title defense via a split decision against Vargas on July 9, 2022. The Filipino has been eager to win back the title and could be getting that chance.
There seems to be some kind of three-way positioning between Fulton, Figueroa, and Magsayo. 3Kings Boxing will continue to monitor this situation until the dust settles.
