In the main event of Superfly 2 on HBO Boxing from the Forum in Inglewood, Ca it Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (45-4-1,40KOs) retained his WBC Super Flyweight belt by defeating Juan Francisco Estrada (36-3,25KOs) by majority decision (114-114, 115-113, 117-111). The bout was a fight of the year candidate. It was a fight that was fought at a elite level with both guys showing tremendous will and skills. Sor Rungvisai continues his hot streak. He displayed his will as he kept coming all night.

It was big straight from Estrada in the first that punctuated a round that he seemed to control. In the second round it was Estrada being the more precise puncher picking his shot and out smarting Rungvisai. Sor Rungvisai came on in the second half of the round three by landing some big shots on Estrada. In round four Rungvisai landed a big lead right and followed it up with a couple big lefts to punctuate the round.

In the fifth round both guys landed some big shots with Rungvisai seeming to land the cleaner and harder punches. Rungvisai was trying to impose his will on Estrada as he kept coming forward landing some big shots in round six. By round seven it seemed like Sor Rungvisai had found his rhythm and was looking to take control of the fight. But in the eighth round Estrada stormed back landing a big left hook the seemed to energize him.

In the ninth round it was Estrada outboxing Sor Rungvisai landing the cleaner shots as it was a big round for Estrada in the tenth however Sor Rungvisai came back landing some big shots and punctuating the round with a big right hand. Sor Rungvisai was landing early in round eleven but Estrada was almost able to steal the round in the last half minute or so with some big right hands of his own. In the twelfth and final round it was Estrada with a big round but fell just short in the scorecards as it was a great fight. One can only ponder what’s next for both guys, perhaps a rematch as it would definitely be fun to watch.
