Gary Russell calls out Gervonta Davis!
WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr (31-1, 18KOs) has turned his attention towards WBA super junior lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (24-0, 23KOs). Davis sent major excitement throughout social after a bone-chilling one-punch knockout of Leo Santa Cruz (37-2-1, 19KOs) in their Halloween night fight.
Russell, who is desperately trying to secure a big fight, has redirected his attention towards Baltimore’s own Davis.
In a video post on social media, Russell rips into Tank!
“Tank, shorty I want you so motherfucking bad! Floyd was scared before the sixth round, I’m letting everyone know that shit right now because Leo was actually doing. Leo had a good little game plan, he just couldn’t stick to it. He’s not defensively sound. Leo’s not defensively sound so he’s able to get hit with wide ass loading up shots like that.
I’m a real dog slim. When I was watching that fight, all I was doing was licking my motherfucking chops…hopefully after this motherfucking fight, Floyd grows some nuts and says ‘fuck it, you know what, we’ll fight Gary. We’ll fight him,’ because I don’t want nobody in the world but you.
But Tank, that shit had me licking my motherfucking chops last night slim. Leo was definitely in your ass, you was knotted up, you was getting knotted up. You pulled that out your ass forreal, forreal. You pulled that out your ass my n*gga. I want you, I want you so bad shawty. I will beat the brakes off your little ass. Please y’all put the press on Floyd and tell them n*ggas, and tell them n*ggas to make the fight happen”.
NOT A BAD OPTION
This is not the first time Russell has called for a fight with Davis. This fight makes sense. Both guys are from the DMV area, fighting under the PBC banner, and are champions.
Regardless of what happens with Davis’ next opponent, he has a plethora of options to choose from. As for Russell, he is just hoping that one of these fighters call his number for a big fight.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
