Russell Jr vs Diaz Finalized For Stevenson vs Jack Undercard

A featherweight showdown in Canada

As previously reported by 3KingsBoxing.com, WBC Featherweight Champion Gary Russell Jr will finally return to the ring one day short of being out of action for a year when he faces his Mandatory Joesph “JoJo” Diaz May 19th on the undercard of Adonis Stevenson vs Badou Jack live on Showtime.

Russell Jr was last seen in the ring in May of last year where he stopped tough and rugged contender Oscar Escandon Via TKO in the 7th rd.

Diaz who has been calling for this fight for awhile now, will finally get his chance to become champion and get his most notable victory of his career.

While it seems that Russell Jr is the overwhelming favorite due to his boxing ability, experience and extremely fast hands, one has to think that his inactivity could catch up to him in one of these fights.

Diaz is young, hungry, unbeaten and active he may be able to shock a lot of people including Gary Russell Jr come May 19th.
