Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn Title Fight Being Pushed By Both Sides

WBC 147-pound champion “King” Ryan Garcia quickly accepted top contender Conor “The Destroyer” Benn’s challenge. In addition, he also made it clear that if they fight, The Destroyer will get knocked out.

Immediately following a subpar performance against one-time champion Regis Prograis, Benn called out Garcia via social media:

“Garcia, I want my belt. I want my belt, keep my belt warm. September, let’s go any day of the week, twice on Sundays…Garcia you’re next. Keep my belt warm.”

It didn’t take King long to reply, and he even called out what round Benn will get stopped in.

This isn’t the first time these two have talked about fighting, but Garcia’s confidence is soaring even higher after watching that abysmal performance by Benn. Furthermore, expect them to encounter trouble making the fight.

Benn is under heavy fire for what fans and pundits are calling a terrible display. He has clowned Haney for not finishing off one-time champion Brian Norman Jr, but Benn failed to even knock down Prograis, which Haney did against the two-time 140-pound champion back in 2023.

WHO WILL HOST THE FIGHT?

Considering Benn is without a promotional home, making the fight with Garcia could become a huge headache. He shocked everyone after betraying long-time promoter Eddie Hearn by signing a one-fight deal with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing. Golden Boy could possibly sign him in order to make the fight, but it will depend on whether it’s worth the financial risk. Benn’s stock undoubtedly took a hit, especially when considering the huge payday he received.

It will be interesting to see who takes a chance on signing Benn, and whether it will happen in time to make a September fight.
