Ryan Garcia Not Hearing Out Rolly Romero for Now
Well, super lightweight fighter “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KO’s) wasted no time in responding to WBA 140-pound champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero (15-1, 13 KO’s). After initially sidestepping Garcia’s beckoning to a showdown, Rolly attempted to spin the block and secure the duel. Unfortunately for him, Garcia says he and WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney are too deep in talks to break away now.
SNOOZING IS LOSING
Far from surprising, it is almost predictable that Garcia retorted to Romero in such fashion. Obviously, no one likes to be snubbed. Also, Haney is a seriously competitive fight, it’s a money fight and Garcia and The Dream share a history that stretches back to their childhood. Furthermore, Romero is coming off a knockout loss and a lackluster controversial win. Yet, with Rolly being Rolly, he is not likely to give up that easily now that he has sunk his teeth in.
Provided that the Haney talks never reach maturation, and Romero persists in his taunting, he still might nab the Garcia fight that he is looking for. Luckily for him though, whether he gets the match with King Ry or not, Romero should not be hurting for a fight. Not only is he a belt-holder, many view him as an easy meal. Whether this is proven to be fact or fiction, this perception theoretically should make securing a solid prizefight a fluid transaction. In any event 3Kings Boxing will be here to report all the latest developments.
