Derevyanchenko vs D. Johnson is off

Sergiy Derevyanchenko (11-0, 9 KOs) has pulled out of his fight against journeyman Dashon Johnson (22-22-3, 7 KOs) this Saturday night on the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Lamont Peterson card at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

According to our sources Derevyanchenko, Ukraine, is feeling ill and doesn’t wish to fight under these circumstances.

The former Olympian is currently the mandatory to Gennady Golovkin and his IBF middleweight title. Derevyanchenko earned that spot when he stopped Tureano Johnson in the 12th round back in August.

He was hoping to use this fight against D. Johnson a stay busy fight while his team continues negotiations for a possible matchup between Derevyanchenko and former junior middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade.

His manager told 3KingsBoxing.com that the Ukrainian may return to action as part of the undercard for the Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz heavyweight title fight on March 3rd at the Barclays Center.
