Horn/Crawford and Pacquiao PPV?

Pacquiao likely to be added to Horn/Crawford

The WBO welterweight title fight between Jeff Horn and Terence Crawford will either take place on April 14th at Madison Square Garden or April 21st at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas according to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum.

Arum also said that there’s a very good chance that Top Rank star Manny Pacquiao could be added to the card. Adding Pacquiao to any card helps it generate bigger numbers of course. It also is a chance for Arum and ESPN to present this has a lead in type of card to what would be a much bigger fight in Pacquiao vs the winner of Horn/Crawford.

While Pacquiao still doesn’t have an opponent scheduled Arum did say that Manny would not be in an undercard bout. It’s not clear exactly how that would be handled but Arum says that ESPN does have a solution.

Part of that solution could be that should Pacquiao be added to the broadcast this card will likely be the first for ESPN PPV Boxing according to Arum. When asked if both Horn/Crawford and the Pacquiao fight would be on PPV, Arum said:

“ESPN has some great ideas on how to handle it and I know it’ll be good.”

Me personally, I just don’t see how this card is even close to PPV worthy even if they added other Top Rank stars such as Vasyl Lomachenko or anyone else for that matter. While I’m just an old scribe and Arum is the legendary promoter, I don’t want to see fights like these costing fans $50-$60 to watch on TV.
