Claressa Shields Has Bad Intentions for Savannah Marshall!
Due to her high knockout percentage, WBO middleweight champion Savannah “The Silent Assassin” Marshall (12-0, 10 KO’s) has been regularly described as a knockout artist. In just her last bout, she collected a stunning third round knockout of Femke Hermans. It was the first time that the Belgian boxer was stopped in her professional career. In Marshall’s next assignment, she will take on two-division undisputed champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (12-0, 2 KO’s).
Despite her miniscule amount of professional knockout’s, T-Rex is adamant that she will be the one putting the hurt on come fight night with Marshall. Shields has been very vocal about how unimpressed she is with the Silent Assassin’s resume and how she believes her KO’s are more fool’s gold than meaningful substance. Now, the Flint, Michigan native has taken to her social media to air out less than favorable intentions for her UK adversary.
TALE OF THE TAPE
The pairing of Marshall versus Shields is an intriguing stylistic match-up in and of itself. When looking at their ledgers, T-Rex does have the more notable names having danced with top-flight pugilists such as Marie Eve Dicaire, Franchon Crews-Dezurn, Hanna Gabriels and Christina Hammer. At the same time though, one would be foolish to blindly dismiss Marshalls height, reach, jab and well…her power.
This is why this upcoming duel is so fan-friendly. The two fighters have a history dating back to the amateurs, they have bad blood, both are undefeated and both bring excellent tools to the ring. So, no matter what angle you approach it, this bout has all the requisite earmarks of one fantastic fight! Let’s hope that both competitors make it to the ring without any issues and that their fight lives up to the billing!
