Claressa Shields proclaims she’ll face Laila Ali in Las Vegas!
Undisputed women’s middleweight champion and unified junior middleweight champion Claressa Shields (10-0, 2KOs) continues to push for a fight with former super middleweight champion Laila Ali (24-0, 21KOs). The two women have gone back and forth on social media, as well as an interviews throwing verbal shots towards each other.
Shields, age 24, is the self proclaimed “GWOAT” in women’s boxing. Ali, age 42, doesn’t seem to be impressed with Shields and her in-ring ability. She hasn’t fought since retiring in 2007. However, Shields took to her twitter account to declare that’ll she be facing Ali in Las Vegas!
While this shouldn’t be taken as a done deal, it seems that these two ladies are serious about settling their differences in the squared circle. As long as the money is right for Ali, then a fight between these two can very much happen.
If this fight gets made it, would be the mega-fight that women’s boxing has been craving. Only time will tell if it gets done.
