Claressa Shield to face Hannah Rankin November 17!
3kingsboxing has learned that undefeated two-division unified champion Claressa Shields (6-0, 2KOs) will face Hannah Rankin (5-2, 1KOs) in an all action middleweight title bout.
Shields initially had Christina Hammer on the schedule for the same date. However, an illness caused Hammer to pullout of the fight, WBO super middleweight champion Femke Hermans was the target opponent on December 8.
For undisclosed reasons, that fight is now off the table and Rankin has stepped in as the replacement opponent.
Rankin, a 28 year-old fighter from Scotland, is getting another title opportunity. This one follows a hard fought loss to WBA Super-middleweight champion Alicia Napolean in August.
3kingsboxing was able to speak with Hannah Rankin for a quote:
“Yes that’s true I’m excited about the fight and proud to be representing Scotland on such a big stage. In boxing, nothing is impossible and on November 17th, what each of us has done before doesn’t matter as at that point, it’s just us in there when the bell rings.”
