Errol Spence responds to Terence Crawford’s social media explosion!
WBO welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (36-0, 27ko) has been burning his social media fingers to the bone! There was the public back and forth with WBA “regular” lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis.
In the midst of that, was a brief stint with former WBA junior welterweight fighter Regis “Rougarou” Prograis. Now coming full circle to unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. The Nebraska champion even went on Instagram with one of his friends calling out for the fight along with mentioning other fighters from the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) banner.
Crawford is normally a laid back type of dude who doesn’t say much and lets his skills do the talking in the ring. However lately, the WBO champion has been very aggressive and vocal to the point that his unified champion counterpart had to respond!
A LITTLE HISTORY
Crawford has stated that he didn’t believe that the Texas champion was ducking him when asked about it by fans on social media previously. Furthermore, during a Showtime live broadcast featuring the rematch between WBC junior middleweight champion Tony “Super Bad” Harrison and Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo, Spence made it clear the willingness to go for undisputed and fighting the WBO champion.
The boxing community wants to see this generation’s version of “Sugar” Ray Leonard vs Thomas “Hitman” Hearns, “Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya vs Felix “Tito” Trinidad and finally Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao.
The welterweight division has been the historical workhorse of boxing going as far back as the golden era. Now it’s calling on these two young champions to continue the tradition.
For what it’s worth, given the following post from Crawford, it looks like that phone conversation went well!
