Abdul Wahid And Conor Benn Trade Shots On Social Media Again

WBA lightweight champion Abdul “Tank” Wahid, formerly Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27KO), and Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (23-0, 14KO) traded verbal jabs again on social media. Tank ended things with a statement that will undoubtedly raise the eyebrows of fans.

The boxing community watched and waited to see what was going to happen when Wahid went looking for a fight against The Destroyer. Looking to land a fight with a big name, The Destroyer wasted no time accepting the challenge.

As time passed, it was becoming clear that the fight wasn’t going to happen. Later, the boxing public received news that the WBA champion could be returning to the ring against top contender Frank Martin. So, it appeared that Tank had another agenda brewing, at the same time he was engaging with the British fighter.

BACK AT IT AGAIN

The two fighters attacked each other again in the early morning hour with vicious tweets.

It didn’t stop there as Tank couldn’t help but make it known that he is the face of boxing in this last statement with a smiling emoji.

“Too late dummy..what y’all don’t understand, I DON’T NEED Y’ALL..”

Benn has moved on and could possibly be on the verge of fighting two-divisional champion Danny Garcia. Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Garcia has reached out, looking to make the fight.

The reality is a Tank versus Benn fight wouldn’t have happened because of a few reasons. With Premier Boxing Champions new deal to host fights on Amazon Prime, it’s highly unlikely Wahid was going to fight on another platform. Next, he would have more than likely had to go up to welterweight, as the Brit wasn’t going to be able to go down to junior welterweight or lightweight.
