Dina Thorslund Proves Superior to Cherneka Johnson in Bantamweight Title Fight
In her latest at bat, bantamweight boxer Dina Thorslund (25-0, 9 KO’s) returned to form in marvelous fashion. The talented bruiser accomplished this by toppling then undisputed bantamweight champion Cherneka “Sugar Neekz” Johnson (19-3, 8 KO’s) by way of unanimous decision. When the cards were read, Thorslund walked away with all three judges scoring 100-90.
Naturally, this was a satisfying victory for winning’s sake. However, this win was far more robust for Thorslund. This is due to her having to surrender and vacate belts when she discovered that she was pregnant back in 2025. Now, on this side of that biology in action, Thorslund relished being able to reclaim the belts that she never lost in the ring.
Now that she has reclaimed her position at the top of the division, it will be interesting to see who her team lines up next. Not surprisingly, while conducting her post-fight interview, Thorslund neglected to call out any specific opposition next. Yet, given her level of emotion and concentration on this duel, it’s very plausible that she has not truly thought about what’s next. So, let’s sit tight and see what the revived bantamweight champion can pull off next.
