Tamm Thibeault Decisions Robinson and Enters the Conversation on Undisputed
In her latest tour of duty, Canadian middleweight fighter Tammara “Tamm” Thibeault (5-0, 3KO’s) picked up a major win. In just her fifth professional fight, Olympic standout Thibeault dethroned Desley “The Destroyer” Robinson (12-4, 4 KO’s) by way of unanimous decision. When the final tallies were revealed, Thibeault prevailed to the tune of 100-90 on all three ledgers. Thibeault claimed Robinson’s scalp, her IBF and WBO middleweight strap as well as the Ring Magazine title.
If Thibeault seeks to unify, she needs but look in only one direction. Kaye “Glamour” “Scott (5-1-1, 0 KO) is the only other divisional champion, holding the WBA and WBC titles. She is scheduled to face Claressa Shields on August 15. It’s not beyond reason to envision the Canadian to trying to finagle a match with the winner.
For the moment, however, we will have to wait and see what the former Olympian and her team can drum up next. If she cannot secure another unification duel, perhaps Thibeault will have to familiarize herself with the formal duties of a champion and defend against her mandatories. In any case, stay tuned to 3Kings Boxing for all things pugilistic.
